Xiaotang Jiang, a Yunnan native, is the Program Coordinator for the Yunnan Sustainability Network. Xiaotang received her M.S. in ecology from Yunnan University. She began her career with The Nature Conservancy (TNC), as part of an ecotourism project in Three Paralleled Rivers World Heritage Site, requiring her to travel extensively across Yunnan Province.
Prior to working with TNC, Xiaotang worked with the Emirates Group, spending two years living in Dubai; which sparked her desire to explore the world and inspired her to pursue a career in cultural preservation and environmental conservation. On her second visit to Xizhou Village in Yunnan in 12 years, she connected with the Linden Centre; where she was able to apply her interests and develop experience in responsible tourism operations and development from the private enterprise perspective. Xiaotang was placed in charge of developing the Yangzhuoran Program, a second property of Linden Centre in Xizhou Village. She led her team in establishing an international education center, following the successful model and standards the Linden Centre has shaped. Her professional experience over these past years has convinced her that education is the best way to prepare the current and future generation to solve today’s global sustainable development challenges. Xiaotang is excited to be working with CLiGS as a way to refuel and rejuvenate her inspiration to follow this life path.
