Judy Smith is a Systems Engineer with a background in program management, strategic planning, and building and leading cross-functional teams. She has spent much of her career as a translator between technical teams and business executives - establishing clear vision, aligning and motivating diverse teams, and providing leadership to achieve success in public and private sector implementation projects. Judy is a 2014 graduate of the Virginia Tech Executive Master of Natural Resources (XMNR) program, and now applies her skills to neighborhood landscape restoration projects across the Chesapeake Bay Watershed.
Judy is passionate about “Collective Impact” and seeks to help organizations deploy this adaptive management technique. She applies her technical background to environmental data management issues and standards, stakeholder engagement strategies, and web-accessible platform development to enhance citizen engagement, improve overall data quality, and increase information sharing across project teams.
