Matt Daggett is currently Greenpeace International’s Global Campaign Leader (GCL) for Forests. Matt and his globally dispersed team guide Greenpeace’s forest campaigns - in the Amazon, Congo Basin, Indonesia, Russia and Canada - to achieve Greenpeace’s global strategies, leverage the organization’s unique strengths, inspire supporters’ leadership and financial support, and create space for innovation. He is honored to be leading a team that has been so successful over the past decades in using Greenpeace’s unique campaigning approach and global reach to increase protections for the world’s most critical and threatened forests.
Prior to these roles, Matt honed his expertise in philanthropy, nonprofit, and advocacy strategy. He worked as Greenpeace USA’s Strategy Director, an Associate Partner at the nonprofit-focused strategic consultancy Dalberg Global Development Advisors, and a Consultant at Boston Consulting Group in London. He led teams in strategy development projects for foundation program officers, company executives, nonprofit leaders, and government, across Africa, Latin America, and beyond. Matt earned his MBA at Oxford University and his B.A. Government at Harvard University.
