Stephen Evanko is the Chairman of the Richmond Region Energy Alliance, a Virginia-based non-profit promoting residential energy efficiency and solar.

Stephen founded Capital One’s Environmental Sustainability Office and was responsible for the development and delivery of the company’s sustainability strategy. Working in partnership across the enterprise, Stephen established environmental goals, implemented environmental projects, led enterprise engagement efforts, developed external partnerships and authored corporate sustainability disclosures and reports.

Over the last decade, Stephen has worked for Capital One in roles that have spanned Credit Card Marketing & Analysis, Operations and Corporate Real Estate. He led the Direct Marketing Strategy group for sub-prime credit cards where he directed marketing, analytics, governance and execution. Stephen also managed the company’s In-Market Testing Operations team. Prior to joining Capital One, he worked as a Consultant for Boston Consulting Group and Senior Systems Engineer for Essex Corporation.

Stephen holds a MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden Business School and Masters degree in Physics from the University of Maryland.
