The Center for Leadership in Global Sustainability (CLiGS) is proud to recognize Hugo Mogollon as the recipient of the 2025 CNRE Recent Alumni Award. A 2015 graduate of the Executive Master of Natural Resources (XMNR) program, Hugo has demonstrated exceptional leadership in conservation and sustainable food systems, leaving a lasting impact both locally and globally.

With roots in Ecuador, Hugo began his career as a conservation biologist before transitioning into nonprofit leadership in the United States. As Executive Director of FRESHFARM, he significantly expanded the organization’s services and scope, and strengthened regional food resilience. His dedication to environmental stewardship continues in his new role as CEO of the Galápagos Conservancy, where he will lead efforts to protect one of the world’s most iconic ecosystems.

Beyond his professional achievements, Hugo remains engaged with CLiGS, mentoring students, supporting research, and sharing his expertise. His journey exemplifies the spirit of Ut Prosim (That I May Serve), making him a deserving recipient of this prestigious award.
