Just last month, 29 graduate students from the Executive MNR (XMNR) spent 10 days in South Africa examining the intersection of water and environmental sustainability in a variety of contexts, both urban and rural.  The international experience serves as the capstone of the XMNR, and brings together lessons learned throughout the program including stakeholder analysis, teamwork, leadership assessment, and project management.  Led by yours truly and Holly Wise, the students authored seven case studies:

  • Stone Fruit Production in the Western Cape-A Case for Multi-Stakeholder Collaboration
  • A Story of Success and Opportunities:
    The Breede-Gouritz Catchment Management Agency
  • How Cross-Sector Collaboration Conserves the Fynbos of the Cape Floral Kingdom
  • Leading a New Era in South African Agriculture: Wineries Blending Best Practices from the Past and Future to Achieve Sustainability in Uncertain Times
  • Land Restoration in the Baviannskloof: A Return of Inspiration and Natural, Economic, and Social Capital
  • SAB MILLER Leads Partners in Water Conservation
  • Some Assembly Required: Kukho Umhlangano Ofunekayo Sommige Vergadering Vereis

Look for these cases to be featured soon on the new CLiGS Catalog!
