Welcome to Virginia Tech’s Executive Master of Natural Resources (XMNR), an accelerated graduate degree program focused on leadership for sustainability and professional development.

LEARN TO LEAD FROM WHERE YOU ARE

Today’s environmental and sustainability challenges cannot be solved by science and technology alone. Climate change, biodiversity loss, urbanization, water and food insecurity, circular economy … these are wickedly complex systems that require diverse stakeholders working together to develop innovative, equitable, and durable solutions for the future.

The XMNR program is a transformative experience designed to educate, inspire, and empower our students to lead systems change. Our interdisciplinary curriculum focusing on the theme of “leadership for sustainability” provides professionals with the credentials, competency, confidence, and connections to lead from where they are.

We believe that everyone can learn systems leadership strategies to have greater influence in the workplace and impact in their communities regardless of job title or position.
