Bio

Daniel Herrera, Ph.D., is a wildlife ecologist studying human-wildlife dynamics and predation behavior at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. He uses motion-activated wildlife cameras and statistical modeling to explore how landscape features, urban planning, and human actions inadvertently impact animal behavior. He also uses Forest Inventory Analysis data to understand how tree communities shape mammalian species assemblages within urban areas and beyond.
