Bio
Jonathan Richardson, Ph.D. is based primarily at the University of Richmond, where he integrates ecology, evolution and genomics to study applied issues related to urban ecology, epidemiology, and wildlife conservation. This research uses genetic and geospatial data to understand why species are found in the environments they are, how they move around the landscape, and what this movement means for their interactions with people (e.g., zoonotic disease risk). This work occurs in and around major cities around the world. Richardson has a B.S. in Biology and Environmental Sciences from the University of Virginia, and a Ph.D. in Forestry and Environmental Studies from Yale University.
